Biography

Alexa's orchestral career began with the Buckley High School Orchestra (2006–2014), where she honed her skills as a young performer being the concertmaster throughout her entire career. She helped the orchestra gain notoriety during many festivals as well as winning various achievements and trophies recognizing her talent and skill. During this period, she also played with the Verdugo Youth Orchestra (2006–2007) and the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra (2007–2009), which, led her to a few stages in Vienna at the ripe young age of 12 years old. Her commitment to musical growth continued with membership in the Junior Philharmonic of California (2009–2012) and the CSUN Symphony (2012–2013).


From 2012 to 2014, Alexa expanded her experience by studying at the Pasadena Conservatory and participated in the prestigious World Strides Music Festival at Carnegie Hall in 2013. She also played with the Stanford Youth Orchestra(2013), further broadening her artistic horizons. Throughout these years, she showcased her exceptional talent and became known for her dedication and artistry.


Following these formative years, Alexa went on to perform with the Occidental Cal-Tech Symphony (2014–2015), the Occidental Sinfonia (2014–2017)(concertmaster), and Occidental Chamber Music (2014–2017), participating in a variety of performances that highlighted her versatility in different musical genres. Her involvement with the Young Musician Foundation (2017–2019) pushed her boundaries as a classical musician opening her to the world of contemporary and classical collaboration. During her time with YMF she had the extraordinary opportunity to perform on stage with popular artist Flying Lotus.
From 2017 to 2023, Alexa played with the American Youth Symphony, accompanying artists such as: Sarah Chang, Charles Yang and Kris Bowers.


In addition to her work with various orchestras, Alexa also participated in several prestigious summer music festivals. These included the Gold Coast Chamber Music Festival (2007–2013), where she worked with world-class faculty and musicians, and the Interlochen Music Festival in 2008, where she gained valuable experience in a renowned program for young musicians. Further developing her artistry, Alexa attended the Meadowmount School of Music in 2011 and took part in the Beverly Hills International Music Festival (2014–2016).


In 2019, Alexa participated in the Interharmony International Music Festival in Acqui Terme, debuting her solo for Mozart's Violin Concerto no. 4. In addition, during these years leading up to the present, Alexa has expanded her musical talent into not only composing classical pieces for quartets and orchestras, but also, producing music for indie underground artists all around Los Angeles. By including her knowledge of classical composition, she was able to create long impacting projects that combined classical musicians, visual artists and pop artists, inviting them on stage to perform together in an avant garde manner.


Through her years of dedication, Alexa has proven to be a versatile and highly skilled musician, garnering experience with some of the most respected ensembles and festivals in the music world. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to artistic growth and excellence, making her a standout figure in her field.
