Biography
Gloria Choi is a violist based in Los Angeles. Gloria picked up the viola at the age of 13 and started growing her passion as a violist under the guidance of Gina Coletti at the Colburn Community School. She finished her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern California and is currently pursuing a Master's degree, studying under Professor Karen Dreyfus. Gloria actively performs with numerous groups such as AYS, Downey Symphony, Jacaranda and USC where she is currently serving as a Principal violist. She has attended music festivals including Bowdoin, Montecito, Spoleto, and Franco-Americaines de Musique de Chambre. She is a violist in Quartet Aido, actively performing in chamber series, concerts, and recording sessions. Her quartet has made appearance in CSUN chamber series, California Club, and various Groupmuse concerts. She teaches private students and serves as a music coach for the Walnut Valley Unified School District. Additionally, Gloria instructs at the Colburn School’s Chamber Intensive every summer.
